Born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Holly has returned to settle after living in many other cities, including Montreal, New York and Seattle. Holly is a direct descendant of Iron Buffalo of the Plains, the first Chief to sign Treaty 6, an event being honoured this year on its 150th anniversary. She is a Metis Citizen, a Captain-of-the-Hunt, and is also of mixed European descent. Holly's main occupation is community service related to Metis Food Sovereignty. To inform her food sovereignty work, Holly draws on knowledge gained by achieving a Master's Degree in Agriculture, Food Science & Management from Washington State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Science from McGill University, summa cum laude. In her free time, Holly performs with her Metis jigging group, Chilliwack nimiiyatoohk, and is working on a graphic novel in which she recreates historical moments from Hudson's Bay Company archives.
